Helpful Links
If you came to this page directly, don't forget to read my main blog page, and also the helpful information page.
MBTA Framingham-Worcester Commuter Rail schedule (current, PDF)
Websites that function like apps (provide real-time info)
Stefan's real time map - GPS tracking for MBTA commuter rail (not created by Dave)
MBTATrains.com - another real time GPS tracking website that displays trains on a schematic map (also not created by Dave!)
Be sure you're signed up for T-Alerts (see #2 on this page).
Twitter feeds (real-time info)
Dave's twitter feed - real time info on delays as they happen
Official MBTA Commuter Rail twitter feed. Operated by Keolis Customer Service with live customer service representatives.
Unofficial twitter feed that automatically tweets out the T-Alert delay postings that get sent out by text message. Not operated by the MBTA or Keolis, and not operated or monitored by a live person. Also not created by Dave.
Apps
Transit is the officially 'chosen / endorsed' app (through this process) by the MBTA. Not my favorite for Commuter Rail, but definitely take a look.
Official MBTA page with links to most apps and websites related to real-time data / on-line trip planning.
MBTA Rail Tracker, one of my favorite iOS and Android apps for real-time train tracking in a non-map based format. Has some neat features including history of which track and which control car was used for each train. The group chat can be pretty helpful (and also a little more colorful than Twitter). The author of this app is a fellow Framingham-Worcester rider (but it isn't me)!
mTicket, the official MBTA app for purchasing a ticket with a mobile device.
