Although this is pitched as a podcast primarily focused on Auburndale, I also get a chance to discuss broader issues on the Framingham-Worcester line such as the second track through Beacon Park and the Worcester Working Group. Give a listen!

Dave....I listened to the entire webcast. I have been petitioning the MBTA Commuter Rail to build platforms at Newtonville, West Newton and Auburndale since Yawkey was built because we couldn't use service inbound to Red Sox games. Not only can we not use the Red Sox Train from the Newtons but we can't even go Inbound to Boston after 1pm. When I used to use Newtonvile when I lived in Watertown, I used to take an Outbound train back to Wellesley and then double back in from Wellesley. Or I'd be forced to use Waverly to North Station and Take a green line Subway. Now being handicapped, it is more difficult to use Newtonvile and climb those God awful 36 steps to get up to Walnut St. It is obvious that to move into a more 21st Century level of thinking where people don't want to drive into Boston that ADA platforms need to be on both sides of ALL 3 Newton platforms. I hope that you will advocate to everyone involved including MBTA, Commuter Rail, the public and politicians that ALL 3 Newton Stations absolutely need ADA platforms on both sides. I know how terrific service can be on Framingham Worcester having 26 trains in both directions at my home stations in Framingham and Ashland. However, I still need accessible service both ways at my home stations, Wellesley Hills and all 3 Newton stops as well as Boston Landing, which still comes up short because service stops there after 8pm in both directions. Thank you for all you do. I would be very surprised if I ever see the Newtons get ADA platforms on both sides in my lifetime.
